Old Havana: shooting from the hip - May 2019
Selection of color street photography done in Old Havana as part of the program of a Santa Fe Photographic Workshop (April 25-May the 3rd) , where I served as co-instructor with Jennifer Spelman. The workshop first covered Zapata Swamp, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad, to end in Havana.(see other representative galleries in this same Folder).
The main objective of this particular photo session was to practice shooting from "the hip", meaning using an angle of view different to that which adults normally use to "see" the everyday world. More "child-like" or "Rollei-like", or Vivian Maier-like", if such expressions could be used to describe it. Basically, your photos become "bold", and full of power.
Sample images shown here are all low resolution. Full resolution photos will soon be included in Havana: vignettes (color)" gallery, within the "Havana: the Capital City" folder of this same site.
