Topes de Collantes, Cuba. March and September 2018
Photos produced in one morning session during a private trip I did in March with friends to the Nengoa Cave and Guanayara River trails of the Natural Reserve of Topes de Collantes, and during 3 days in September, when acting as a judge in the Digital Photo Nature yearly contest, that was held in the reserve. The Digital Photo Nature contest gathers nature photographers and enthusiasts from Cuba and other countries. Photos are presented in four different categories: Macrophotography, Landscape, Man and Nature, and Flora/Fauna. Three prizes are awarded per category, and a Grand Prize for the photographer with the most recognized photos in all categories.
During my spare time I shot landscapes, flora, and fauna, specially birds, and people of the countryside. The reserve has recovered dramatically with respect to my visit in September 2017, just after the hurricane Irma, that nearly devastated part of the zone with sustained winds and lots of rain. These and other Topes images can be also found with the link: http://www.gavilondophoto.com/Nature/Topes-de-Collantes
